The artwork on your demo is just as important as your delivery on each spot and the production values of the demo itself. Proper packaging of your demo is imperative. Why? Because it either promotes you--or it doesn't.
It's basic advertising.
Would you pick up a less than attractive package of ANYTHING at the grocery store and try it, not knowing what you are going to get? Not likely.
There are literally dozens of suggestions we can make regarding the graphics for your demo. The best may be for you to purchase The Sound Advice Encyclopedia of Voiceover and the Business of Being a Working Talent and read the "Graphics" chapter. It's likely to save you a great deal of time, money and embarrassment!
SOUND ADVICE has had a great deal of success working with a small pool of artists and creative professionals. Topping the list are graphic designer Jen Harrell of Wyville USA and graphic and web designer Ben Welch and graphic and web designer Justin Mooney.
It's vitally important that the graphics on your CD look as good your demo sounds. Otherwise, you run the risk of sandbagging a perfectly wonderful demo!
